What Hackpedia.org is and is NOT and the meaning of "hack" by Jonathan Campbell To most people "hacking" implies destructive computer activities involving viruses, trojans, keyloggers, exploiting security holes and running botnets, and all manner of fantasy hacking seen in major Hollywood movies. That's not what Hackipedia.org is for. Here "hack" is used in it's original meaning to refer to someone who tweaks and modifies their equipment for fun or for constructive purposes. To enable that, this site collects information that a hacker needs to do whatever he needs or wants to do. Like all knowledge, some information here can be used for evil and destructive ends, but the primary intent is that you do something constructive with it. This is why I will list files on chipsets, programming APIs, connectors, and parts, but I will never list stolen credit cards or serial numbers or any manner of pirated warez. All material on this site is useful for constructive purposes in one way or another.
